Twisted Float
Mitered Handbag
Knitting can be MORE than just sweaters, bags & accessories!  Add millinery techniques to lace knitting to create a lovely piece of millinery (head wear) to treasure for years! We'll knit our "blanks" (raw hats shapes),block and wire them, then trim them with some knitted touches. We'll be making the hat pictured above from Romantic Hand Knits in class.
Make the Twisted Float Circular Shrug (cover of Vogue, Winter 2005) using my updated UNIVERSAL pattern! Create this lovely jacket in ANY size, using ANY weight yarn. Minimal math, maximum fun!The pattern included in the class is a rework of the original pattern with clearer instructions and universal sizing, allowing the garment to be made to any size using any weight yarn.
In this class you'll learn how to memorize a lace motif, new ways to create more beautiful decreases, the theory behind bias movement in lace fabric AND you'll discover a new found love of charts!Written instructions can have typos, but with a chart what you see is what you get, which is why it’s the best option for knitters who want to “see” what their lace will look like before they take up their needles. This class could change your entire knitting outlook!
We’ll cover the basics of Mitered - or Domino - Knitting, learn ways to visualize mitered patterns through charts, and begin The Universal Mitered Bag, which can be completed at the knitters own pace after the class.Making this bag is easier than you might imagine, and will turn any "new" knitter into a confident "adventurous" knitter! This pattern allows you to make the bag in ANY size, using ANY weight of yarn.
