How do online classes work?

Above is a sample instructional video on Steam Blocking to give you a feeling for the flavor of my online teaching style.I feel very strongly that we learn in many ways – visually, audially, through reading, through doing – and also in a combination of these learning methods.

With this in mind, I’ve created a syllabus for each class which includes a bit of each type of learning style, represented in my video by the examples, audio descriptions and written captioning for each technique.

 It’s easy to sign up for one of my classes!

    1. Go to Registration, look over the classes and click on the “Add to Cart” button for whatever class you’d like to take.

    2. Select your preferred start date for class

Start Immediately
Start the First Day of next month
Email Annie to Arrange your start date

  1. Pay for the class (any credit card is accepted)

  2. After you pay, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
    .
  3. Within 24 hours of your chosen start date, you’ll receive an email invitation to join the online classroom.

Once you’re in the class…

  1. Download the pdf handouts, mp3 lectures, and watch the videos.
  2. Email me with any unanswered questions

 

How do the students & teacher interact?

There are 2 ways we can interact in a student / teacher relationship;

  1. Email meEmail me with any questions and I’ll answer them as quickly as possible.
    If you want, you can either attach or link to an image of your knitting and I can comment on specific questions.
  2. We can chat via text or video using several different software applications.

Email me and we’ll determine

  • Which chat application works best for you
  • What chat time works best for both of us!
What if the class isn’t for me?

I’ll give you a week to determine if the class isn’t quite what you were hoping for. If you determine that my online class isn’t for you, just let me know and you’ll get a complete refund and will be removed from class.

Of course, I do hope you’ll give the class a good chance, and I hope that it is everything you want it to be! I’ve worked hard to create thorough materials which cover the topics in a variety of ways!

Referrals

After you’ve registered for any one of my [paid] classes, you are eligible for a referral bonus! Just make sure the person you refer lets me know in an email, and you’ll get $5 (via paypal) after the first week of class has ended.

I can only pay the referral to folks who have already signed up and paid for a class, but you don’t have to have taken the class to receive the referral!
